What to Expect

First, we start with WHITEWATER RAFTING, you can choose more adrenaline by picking the Class III section of our beautiful Jatun Yacu River, or an easier and softer Class II section and enjoy the landscape in the amazing Napo river. No matter what, you will be surrounded by the breathtaking nature of the Amazon Jungle.

In the middle of the tour we will have a delicious lunch!

By the end of the day, you will feel satisfied with your experience and feel as though you got to understand the nature and culture of this area in such a short time.

Check In in the afternoon at the Lodge. In Punta Ahuano we will be waiting for you with a canoe (outboard motor) which will take you to Anaconda Lodge Ecuador (approximately 20 minutes).

Arrival at the Lodge in the middle of the Amazon where our team awaits you for a warm welcome accompanied by the quintessential Amazonian drink: “Guayusa” (native plant of the Ecuadorian Amazon).

The day ends with a delicious dinner.

From 08:00 hours, our team will await you with a delicious and nutritious breakfast with natural juices, coffee and always fresh food.

At 09:00 hours, departure with the guide to the excursion in the primary forest. Canoe transportation from the lodge of 0.30 minutes. By primary we are are talking about a forest that has remained intact, and has never been exploited, fragmented, or influenced by humans.

In this forest that you can observe different species of monkeys (Gray Shag, Cappuccino, Squirrel, and Spider), birds, insects, amphibians, frogs (such as the famous Ecuadorian poision frog) and snakes (Bothrops genus, Micrurus and Coral Fats). The 3-hour trek through the high forest allows you to feel the immensity of the Amazon between giant trees that reach 60 meters high.

Arrival at the Lodge approximately 2:30 pm and lunch at the restaurant.

At 06:30 pm, the appointment is at the Lodge’s restaurant to start one of the most impressive experiences that you can have in the jungle: The night walk.

Everything that can be observed in the day, the animals and the sounds, in the night changes completely. Birds, butterflies and monkeys leave the post to tarantulas, insects, frogs, amphibians and snakes. Unique in its kind, the night walk allows you to get in touch with the most virgin and uninhabited jungle that ever.

The day concludes with an excellent dinner.

From 08:00 hours, breakfast at the Lodge’s restaurant.

09:00 hrs., canoe boarding at the port of the Lodge to start a trip of approximately 5 minutes to Ahuano, where there will be a new trip of approximately 3 hours through a new primary jungle on the left bank of the Napo River, also in the foothills of the eastern Andes mountain range. During the trip you can see tall trees with beautiful foliage, birds and, quite a lot of fauna.

The adventure ends at about 800 meters above “Punta Ahuano”, where those who want can embark in an Inner Tube and transfer to the lodge, a trip of approximately 45 minutes.

2:00 pm, lunch at the Lodge’s restaurant. Free afternoon for photographs, admire the scenery, bird watching, or enjoy the Napo River.

At 6:30 p.m., departure to a nocturnal walk through the Amazonian forest of Anaconda Island, where you will see an endless number of nocturnal species …. another worl!

You return at around 08:30 p.m.

Dinner at the Lodge’s restaurant.

From 08:00 hours, breakfast at the lodge’s restaurant. Late Check out until 4:00 p.m.

Then you will be delighted with a visit to the so-called “New Forest”. The last guided tour will take place on Anaconda Island itself. Here, our native Kichwa guides will introduce you to the jungle with its flora, its inhabitants, its fruits, its trees and above all the use that the natives make of all this: from medicine to food, going to the tools to work and live.

The walk continues with the arrival at the lagoon of the alligators where you can see “Caimanes Anteojos” (also called crocodilian caymans).

These specimens live on the island in total freedom. Males can measure between 1.8 and 2.5 m long.

On the one hand alligators, and on the other birds of unique beauty such as the Hoatzin, the Tropical Auklet, Crested Goldfish, Purple Gallinule, Donacobio, Arasasis, and other species.

The walk continues until you reach the last and most interesting part of this first tour: the Kichwa house.

The Kichwas are one of the different indigenous ethnic groups that live in the Amazon. Entering a Kichwa house will be like going back in time, relating to a lifestyle that we could not even imagine. In addition, you can taste the 100% organic chocolate.

At 1:30 pm, Silvia will prepare a healthy and nutritious lunch with fresh products from the Amazon, which will be tasted in the Lodge’s restaurant with a captivating view of the Napo River.

Farewell with all the Staff and Transfer in Canoe (outboard motor) to Punta Ahuano. 20 minutes of travel.
