The Urcusiqui river is the acces to the upper Jondachi. Is a really cool creek with big drops and technical lines. Normally it takes about 2 hours to run the river if it's your first time.   Expect a lot of drops and really narrow lines in some rapids.  If the level is to low, the best option to run the Upper Jondachi is not trough Urcusiqui. Your best option is to put in La Merced de Jondachi, because this Urcusiqui river loves to brake boats.

The Jondachi is one of the "classics" runs in Ecuador. This river is divided in 3 sections:  Section 1-Class V Section 2-Class V-IV Section 3-Class IV-III  This beautiful river is a must if you are coming to paddle in Ecuador.   The Jondachi, one of the last remaining free-flowing tributaries to the Amazon and Ecuador’s premier kayaking destination, is threatened by imminent hydroelectric development, if you want to know more about this problem here is the link http://ecuadorianrivers.org/
