Restrictions

What to Expect
Since the “duckie” boat is designed to encompass characteristics of both a kayak and a raft, you get the best of both worlds. You experience the intensity of the rapids, while also feeling safe and secure in the inflatable duckie. Regardless, every wave, hole, and eddy is more impactful and since it is just you and the guide in the boat, they have full control over the craziness of their journey.
Aside from the adrenaline experienced in the duckie, the beauty seen cannot be topped. Trekking in a jungle, seeing and learning about the flora and fauna of the Amazon, and running rapids in a duckie while being surrounded by canyons, lush jungle, and plentiful waterfalls makes for a magical day.
The Jondachi river is one of the most beautiful rivers in the world because of its clear water, surrounding canyons, and smooth granite rocks. The Hollín river has even more character with grander rapids, bigger water, and more adrenaline, while also providing recovery pools for swimming and relaxing.
The stop at el Gran Cañón is magical because you can climb through the naturally formed canyon and jump off a rock in the clear and refreshing water.

When we stop to have lunch, we don’t just do it anywhere, but on the banks of the river in the middle of the jungle so it is surely an unforgettable lunch. The entire day is filled with excitement, and even during the relaxing times, the scenery and sounds of the jungle are sure to make your heart race.

Our certified guides are outgoing, enthusiastic, and all around passionate about the sport and these rivers!

Had so much fun. We were lucky to have the duck rafts after some have rainfall. The river was spectacular and fast. When inbetween the rapids I had some time to recover I was amazed about the magnificent jungle surrounding the river. Altough we did not have any experience on rafting the crew made it a great experience (they all speak english :-). Be sure to book the grand canyon walk as well.

I spent a couple months in Ecuador on a study abroad and I wanted to seek out fun and adventure. Kayak Ecuador made my experience just that. I took a trip down the Jondachi river in a duckie raft and had such a great time! I also hiked to the Gran Cañon, which quite literally took my breath away. Kayak Ecuador makes sure your time with them is nothing but excellent and memorable. Safety is their number one priority and they make sure you are educated on safety procedures before going out on your adventure. Santi, Daniella, Pablo, and other staff care so much about what they do and their passion shines bright from the moment you meet them. They will make your trip unforgettable and are so friendly. The nature I saw in Ecuador/on the river and the adrenaline I experienced being in the water and in the jungle was unlike anything I had done before and it is something you cannot miss. I definitely recommend visiting Tena, going rafting, and choosing Kayak Ecuador!
