Whitewater Kayak Instruction | 2 Days is designed for beginners interested in learning how to kayak properly and safely. During these 2 days, you will learn all the basic movements and the fundamental notions of this sport.
We recommend taking a second learning module, since the ACA (American Canoe Association) recommends taking at least 4 days of instruction to continue optimally in the sport. Remember that to practice this type of activities it is important to do it with certified and experienced instructors.
Important note: if you are a “solo” traveller and you are willing to have a private kayaking school, an extra 30,00% will be charged in your final payment.
1. Kayak Ecuador Home Base (Teniente Hugo Ortiz Street | Panamericana E-45 – 600m from the Jumandy Caverns from north to south, in front of the “Yanayacu” bus stop). Archidona – Napo, Ecuador.
2. Hotel pickup (Tena/Archidona)
– All our tours depart from Kayak Ecuador home base or pickup directly from your hotel.
– At the end of the tour we will drop you off at you hotel (Tena/Archidona) or finish in Kayak Ecuador Home Base*.

15 Minutes Before Event Time
Whitewater Kayak Instruction | 2 Days is designed for people who do not have experience in whitewater kayaking. During these 2 days we will learn all the basics of kayaking in a safe and fun way. The course is recommended for all people interested in sports and who wish to have a short and concise experience.
The instructors of Kayak Ecuador are certified by the ACA (American Canoe Association), and with their great experience, they will be patient and empathetic, so they will adapt to the different needs of the student. We will show you the paddling strokes and techniques in all possible ways so that your learning curve is much higher.
In case you already know how to roll and have confidence in it, and you can descend rivers of classification II-III, we recommend taking a more advanced instruction for experienced students.
Geographic Information: Tena-Archidona are the perfect cities to learn this sport, due to its proximity to the rivers class I and II.

Its capital is Tena. The province contains the Napo River. The thick rainforest is home to many natives that remain isolated by preference, descendants of those who fled the Spanish invasion in the Andes, and the Incas years before. This province is one of the many located in Ecuador’s section of the Amazon Rainforest. In Napo province are also Antisana Ecological Reserve and Limoncocha National Biological Reserve.
