This unique kayaking week will let you become a new/better boater! Our Instructors will customize this week according to your goals and skills.

What to Expect
Kayak Ecuador started with the vision of teaching those wanting to learn how to kayak how to do it correctly and safely.
 
Since this was our initial dream, we put our soul into making this 7-day school the best experience possible for beginning kayakers.
Much of kayaking is learning how to mentally deal with problems that may arise in the water. We believe it is worthwhile not only to teach students fundamental kayaking maneuvers, but to also teach students how to mentally deal with problems that appear so they have a worthwhile learning experience and so they increase in ability.
 
Although this comes with frustration at first, we have witnessed pure satisfaction on the faces of students after successfully completing their first roll or having a good run in a tough rapid. In order to have this indescribable feeling, we make sure to teach with patient, qualified, and fun instructors.
 
We do everything with safety as our first priority!
 
Aside from the physically being in the water, the kayak school has so much more to offer. Since everything is included in this trip, we like to say all you need is yourself.

If you are a beginner and have the desire to learn how to kayak, this is the best place to do it because we provide all that is needed to begin learning, teach safely and slowly, and do it in some of the best rivers in Ecuador and even the world.

Itinerary
DAY 1 | Welcome to the jungle! Dry Instruction, safety talk and hydrology lessons! Kayak and Gear Selection + Roll Clinic
DAY 2 | Confort & Roll practice on the Misahuallí River + Descent of Tena River
DAY 3 | Descent of the Anzu River & Basic Strokes practice
DAY 4 | REST DAY! Discover the area by yourself or book a massage!
DAY 5 | Descent of the Napo River & T-Rescue + Self-Rescue Practice
DAY 6 | Descent of the Middle Anzu River, Eddy and Ferries practice
DAY 7 | Last Descent, Inchillaqui River or Jatun Yacu River (depending on the group’s level) 
 
This is a tentative itinerary, there may be last minute changes due to the decision of the guide and/or instructor, and/or weather conditions and/or level of each group.

Geographic Information: Tena-Archidona are the perfect cities to learn this sport, due to its proximity to the rivers class I and II.
Water Temperature: 15 ºC to 19 ºC | 59 ºF to 48 ºF
Altimetry: 500 MASL – Start | 450 MASL – End
Climate: 24 ºC to 34 ºC / 75 ºF to 93 ºF. Tropical humid forest
Kayak Distance: Tena River 6 km | Anzu River 12 km | Napo River 15 km | Misahuallí River 7 km |
Kayaking time per day: 5 hours aprox. 
River Class: Class I and II, beginner.
Kayaks and Gear: We have more than 25 kayaks for different weights and heights, ensuring your comfort.
Peak Season: June, July, August and December (Be aware for reservations).

Napo, Ecuador.
Its capital is Tena. The province contains the Napo River. The thick rainforest is home to many natives that remain isolated by preference, descendants of those who fled the Spanish invasion in the Andes, and the Incas years before. This province is one of the many located in Ecuador’s section of the Amazon Rainforest. In Napo province are also Antisana Ecological Reserve and Limoncocha National Biological Reserve.

El curso de Kayak sobrepasó por completo mis expectativas. El proceso y los métodos de aprendizaje son excelentes. Comienzas desde cero y terminas listo para correr rápidos. Los equipos son excelentes. La seguridad es inmejorable. Y por último los ríos y los paisajes que se pueden ver son espectaculares. Al terminar solo puedes pensar en cuando vas a poder regresar.

I made the Kayak school for beginners with Santi. It was an amazing experience. Everyone was really friendly and competent. Santi is one of the best kayak guides in Ecuador. The landscapes that you are going to see are uniquely beautiful. You are going to see Ecuador from another perspective. Safety was a very important aspect for Kayak Ecuador. The feelings and emotions that you are going to have there are just something different. I totally recommend Kayak Ecuador and will definitely come back again.
