Kayak Ecuador’s whitewater sports internships are adapted towards undergraduate and graduate students majoring in Tourism, Hospitality, Communications, Adventure Sports Management, and other related fields. Moreover, internships are especially geared to individuals with an interest in whitewater sports and leisure; experience in rafting and/or kayaking is considered a plus, and to students with Spanish proficiency and English knowledge.
Additionally, having an interest in assisting a rural sector with a community development project. Furthermore, the internship includes full training weeks where interns will go to the following tours to have an insight of whitewater and jungle adventure excursions offered by Kayak Ecuador: Full Day Rafting in the Jatun Yacu river, visit to Yani lagoon, Full Day Rafting in the Jondachi river, Gran Cañón del Jondachi trek, Half Day Rafting in the Anzu river, Safari Tour and swimming day in the Calmito Yacu river.
The intern in Adventure Tourism Management is a full-time internship taking place in the Napo Amazonian province of Ecuador, Tena city. The focus of the internship is to acquire experience not only in the field of whitewater sports and leisure, but also in the field of Tourism, Hospitality, Adventure Sports Management and local community engagement.
Your main responsibilities as an intern in Kayak Ecuador involve dynamic, miscellaneous and fun tasks. For instance, interacting with customers while developing skills in general customer service, supporting Kayak Ecuador’s staff in logistics and administrative tasks while guiding customer groups in outdoor activities. Learning whitewater sports gear terminology and related aspects of adventure sports and Amazon tourism. Collaborate in writing an entry for Kayak Ecuador’s blog. Also, you will engage and assist in a local community development project that you will promote together with the other interns.
